Name: Musa x paradisiaca (Resistant starch)
Description: The Resistant Starch contained in Caruso’s Constipation EZE® is Green banana powder. A powder made from unripened bananas, and due to their unripened state, they are packed full of resistant starch.
Starch is considered the most abundant carbohydrate in the human diet accounting for more than 50% of carbohydrate consumption. It is found in plant cell walls and is particularly plentiful in tubers such as cassava and potatoes and in grains such as wheat, oats, barley, rice and corn. Resistant starch is a type of starch that isn’t digested in the stomach or small intestine and makes it all the way to the colon intact (“resists digestion”). It works as a prebiotic that feeds and boosts the good bacteria in the gut.
Resistant starch is the ultimate multi-fibre nutritional supplement—a unique combination of soluble, insoluble and fermentable fibre. High in prebiotic fibre, to nourish beneficial gut bacteria.
