Description: Schisandra is native to North China and has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine since ancient times. The fruit is both eaten and used for its health benefits.

The Schisandra plant is a woody vine with fragrant pink and white flowers giving way to bright red fruit. The first instance of the medicinal use of Schisandra can be traced back to early texts documenting the use of herbal medicines in China, believed to date back to the first century BC.
